I recently visited Butterfly World in Eaglescliffe near Durham and
amongst all the tropical plants was this really nice fern, but i have
no idea what it is.

But does anyone know this small one?

Can anyone tell me what this one is?
I saw this growing high on a wall in the farm grounds. At first I thought just another Dryopteris dilatata but when I got closer I noticed the pinnae looked different. I have no fern books but have looked online and cannot match it!

I think the last one is Dryopteris filix-mas. Sometimes this fern grow's together with Asplenium ruta-muraria and Asplenium trichomanes in walls and on top of walls.

Dr.filix-mas shows not his normaly fronds at such a place. The place is to dry and so the fronds are reduced and only a few of them are existend.

regards
Athyriana

Thanks Athyriana! Funny as it looks nothing like any Dryopteris I've seen-thought it was something completely different.
