Noch ein Beatles Fan hier? :)

Hab mir heute Across the Universe angesehen.

Einige Versionen sind etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, einige Filmsequenzen sind bzgl Ihrer symbolhaltigkeit fast schon überladen. Aber ersteres trotz alldem und zweiteres dadurch erst recht: ein toller Film!

Meine Lieblingsteile:
Bono mit I am the Walrus
Joe Cocker mit Come together
und ... all you need is love .. aber eher weil's so schon kitschig ist.

Die schlechteste Version:
Eindeutig: Being for the benefit of Mr.Kite :bad

I watched this movie recently and was disappointed. I didn't realise it was a true musical and well,if you're gonna play beatles songs you should at least play the originals. I just don't like musicals where the actors just suddenly start singing. Irritates me!

I knew it before that is a musical.

Unfortuantely nearly all my beatles records are vinyl.
But remembering I have to say, that playing vinyl and even collect them is a lot more fun than the cheap looking CD's.
eg: remembering the poster of the white album, a white vinyl record of the white Album, the famous butcher cover, remixed mono-version of LP's (I have the white album in mono (!!) and heard of at least one other which was remixed) the very well designed Rarities II http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/130x130/3529116.jpg (the new version 'Past masters' is a completely mess :( ), the european Hey Jude album (singele compilation) which seems not to exist as a CD ...

Long, long time ago I remember when I was about 14 (it was already 1978) I got at x-mas the white album and a new record player. Alltghough it was quite cheap, I nearly got tears in my eyes and it was one of my best x-mas I ever had.

Yes, but it was a real procedure to play a vinyl record.

Open the record player. Clean the pick-up from time to time.
Take the (most times) realy nice (till beautful) cover.
Take the inner sleeave with the record.
remove the record from the inner sleeve without even touching the vinyl itself and lay it on the turntable
Clean the record with (most time not that cheap) carbon fibre brush.
Place the pick-up above the record and lower it.
Now, you can sit down, read the cover and hear the music with all the senses.

Today:
Take the Cd from the fucking CD-Case (which breaks to easy), put it in any CD-Player and press play.
Oh, yess .... and forget to even try the most times to tiny letters on the cover.
And forget to look how the label is turning around (which was quite stupid but funny ;))
